D-2 is an air hardening (cold work) tool steel that is high in carbon and chromium. D-2 offers excellent resistant to wear and abrasion and is used in long-run applications when resistance to wear is required. 0-2 is machinable in the annealed condition. 0-2 shows minimal distortion during heat treatment.
